hey just organising the trip for inters in portrush and was googling it and your blog came up! any ideas on where's best for accommodation? like in relation to where the comp will be held? never been to portrush myself so i'm clueless

Irish Surf Intervarsities 2011 Portrush East Strand, 19th- 20th February
Registration Registration will be held on the Friday 18th from 5 pm – 9 pm in the Suckerfish bar of the Playhouse Portrush (directions here http://portrushplayhouse.com/contact/). Registration will cost €50 per club and €10 per entry.
-Each college can enter as many students as they wish. Where a college has insufficient surfers to enter a full team, entry of a partial team or individual will be accepted.
- Each competitor may only enter one category.
-The team award will be based on points awarded from a university’s best performer in five out of the six main categories. The Novice category will not contribute to team points
Event Timetable The event will run from 9 am – 5pm on Saturday 19th and 9 am – 4 pm on Sunday 20th with presentations and prizes given out after the final heats in East Strand Watersports centre.

Men’s Surf (open to any male student riding any type of surfboard)
Women’s Surf (open to any female student riding any type of surfboard)
Men’s Bodyboard (open to any male student riding a Bodyboard*)
Women’s Bodyboard (open to any female student riding a Bodyboard*)
Men’s Longboard (open to any male student riding a Longboard*)
Women’s Longboard (open to any female student riding a Longboard*)
Novice Men’s Surf (open to any male student using any type of surfboard who has been surfing for less than one year)
Novice Women’s Surf (open to any female student using any type of surfboard who has been surfing for less than one year)
Accommodation There are a number of hostels within a 15 mile radius of Portrush, we recommend the following: Portrush holiday hostel http://www.portrushholidayhostel.co.uk/
