Taken during a much needed break from the dissertation this evening. Few things clear the head better than a walk by the beach and a good ol' ice cream!
Missed the end of the comp at Ballyhiernan but had to head on round the coast for a view more observations. Windy, small and not getting where I wanted were the results.
Beach state observation site #6 (small but would've been fun on the singlefin)
West of Site #3 (Strong onshores but still worth a go)

Left the parents round 6 to catch low tide and make some beach state field observations for my dissertation. 250 miles of driving, 8 sites observed and 100 odd photos. Resisted the temptation to bring a couple of boards despite last weeks anti-climax (Only got out one day after an anticipated and hyped "week of surf") and ended up doing some mind surfing instead. Remember the North West Surf ClubsSpring Classic this weekend in Ballyhiernan. Looks like a bit of a wild forecast but I'm always told they're great events!
Today was the first time in the water in nearly two weeks. Crap waves, flu and catching up on dissertation were largely to blame. Had a presentation to give on my dissertation this afternoon which definitely could've went better so I decided to get back to basics and head to the local beachie. Furthered the analogy by ditching the paddle out after a few waves and with dark quickly approaching, opted to enjoy life riding the white water reform on the inside. Very kookish I know but after a stressful afternoon, I needed waves a plenty.
