Light Head

Nothing spectacular but ridable...
Few waves and Aaron's ever increasingly pimped out wagon
Turned into a beautiful evening
From sea to shining sea...

Found a few waves after touching down from Scotland at midday. My 12th flight in 21 days. Not quite the lifestyle of the ecologically minded Environmental Scientist. My head was spinning and was feeling pretty lethargic for the first hour or so until the pushing tide started to add a little more size to the small waves and Aaron arrived to share a few laughs. Cheers for the stoke as always bud!

Fin Fun...

Moody skies and building swell...
The banks were good and thankfully only got better as the swell got bigger

Arrived fairly this evening hoping that some of the south westerly swell had wrapped round the coast. We arrived to some small perfectly formed peelers which i duly enjoyed leashless on the singlefin. However as the tide pushed and the anticipated swell filled in things became alot more fun, the impending darkness being our only downfall. Aaron was looking really good on his 6'8 tonight too. He had his tail up and was throwing a bit of spray especially when I happened to be paddling back out on the shoulder. Buzzing mate!

Forgotten wetsuit and missed waves...

Aaron heading down while I headed home to get my wetsuit
Longboards definitely made the most out of todays conditions. Anonymous finding some shelter from the 25 mph+ westerlys
This guy caught a few nice wans as the afternoon wore on.
Late night slab. Would love to see what it could so what with a bit more swell.

Aaron and I headed off to the only place we thought could provide some shelter from the forecast westerlys but still hold some swell. Fortunately the spot in mind didn't seem to bad but I unwittingly forgot my wetsuit leaving me to head home and apparently missing the best of the days waves.

Out west...

I hate phone lines...

The lady and I at a place of many fish but few waves
Camping craic...
And something a bit more posh.

Little miss attitude

Been out west with the lady for the past few days. We had a great time but was frustrating being round those parts and not getting a surf. 2ft and onshore was about as good as it got... Finally got into the water up north today coming back from Belfast and resorted to renting a foamie and making the best of some small, crumbling, beach break, closeouts. Not quite what I was hoping for but its been my first surf in nearly 6 weeks!

Small waves. Strong offshores.

Small windy peeler
Isolation

Missed the end of the comp at Ballyhiernan but had to head on round the coast for a view more observations. Windy, small and not getting where I wanted were the results.

Looking Good...

Early at the causeway
Some big sets rolling through again today
North Coast beach break
Pretty sure it was Stuarty dropping into a few this morn
Keeping warm
Hide and Seek
Up close and in colour

Had to leave a mate round to work at the causeway first thing before getting the car to MOT. Managed to get a few shots on the journey back from town and was stoked to see Stuarty out braving the cold. East looked like a lotta fun today. Definitely felt I was on the wrong side of the lens. The BBC were setting up with a camera just as i was leaving aswell. Not a bad day for a couple of vids!

Congratulations to Pedro. Declared fit enough to suffer another year on the road.

Tommy grab your gun...

Bit bigger than expected...

Big, Brown and Beautiful

16.5ft @ 14 seconds up close

Rivermouth wedge

Sense of scale

Further down the beach looked abit more manageable

Another empty A frame (I want to be on you)

Hillside Right

Epic

wow. I definately underestimated todays swell. Was gonna sneak a quick surf on the way to work after uni but rethought the idea when I saw the size of the waves and paddleout. The A-bomb and I we're abit taken aback to say the least and gawked for an hour or so instead. Definately could've got the ride of your life out there today and am kinda thinking that I at least should have made an attempt to have been in that position. Maybe next time...
